Advanced Dynamic Simulation Modelling with Vabi Elements
This course will enable you to provide an overview of a building’s performance from initial concept to design completion, using Vabi Elements’ Dynamic Simulation Modelling module. The session also explores the theoretical models behind the technology, and is supported by practical exercises. More in-depth aspects of the modelling are discussed, on request.
Building performance criteria are discussed and explored, as is each input for building simulation. The course uses case studies to explore how building simulation can be used as a design and assessment tool. During the session a building is simulated for a whole year, from hour to hour, providing an overview of all energy flows and temperatures.
Audience
The dynamic simulation modelling training with Vabi Elements is suitable for building physics specialists and building services engineers, including those interested in climate control and the sizing of HVAC systems.
Prerequisites
A background or training in building physics or building services is required to successfully complete the course. Participants must have undertaken the Vabi Elements introductory training course.
Objectives
Optimising building performance in terms of energy, comfort and cost is important for clients. Building performance simulations are increasingly becoming an imperative for both new and existing buildings. With this training you will gain the knowledge and experience in dynamic simulation modelling to enable you to provide suitable advice at design stage, or when adapting the operation of an existing building, to best meet the needs of your client.
