BuildDesk U software crashing after opening – Microsoft Windows updates

We are pleased to report that Microsoft released updates during the end of August and early September that have now fixed this issue.

BuildDesk U software users who ran Windows updates released on 14/15 August 2019 may have experienced problems with our software crashing after opening. Our initial guidance was that this could be fixed by temporarily uninstalling the latest Microsoft Security update.

Go to Windows Settings>Updates and Security>Windows Update> View update history>Uninstall updates>Microsoft Windows. Select the most recent Security update for Microsoft Windows and then Uninstall program.

This will return your computer prior to the Windows update and the software will run as normal.

Please turn off automatic Windows updates until Microsoft release a patch for this. Updates have now been released.
