We are continuing to provide our services to clients as normal. The only exceptions to this are the monthly training courses which are cancelled for May due to the current lockdown restrictions
Future training dates are still being scheduled on our website and we continually review these in line with latest official advice. When meeting restrictions are lifted training will resume.
Thank you for your continued custom during this period of uncertainty.
We are pleased to report that Microsoft released updates during the end of August and early September that have now fixed this issue.
BuildDesk U software users who ran Windows updates released on 14/15 August 2019 may have experienced problems with our software crashing after opening. Our initial guidance was that this could be fixed by temporarily uninstalling the latest Microsoft Security update.
Go to Windows Settings>Updates and Security>Windows Update> View update history>Uninstall updates>Microsoft Windows. Select the most recent Security update for Microsoft Windows and then Uninstall program.
This will return your computer prior to the Windows update and the software will run as normal.
Please turn off automatic Windows updates until Microsoft release a patch for this. Updates have now been released.
Apologies to any of our customers who experienced this problem.
We have had some queries recently regarding how the thermal resistance of various airspaces is calculated and how these airspaces can be entered in the BuildDesk U-value software. We have added a document to explain this on our FAQ page for the U-value software. The document can also be directly downloaded here.
BuildDesk will be present at Ecobuild 2016 at the Excel centre in London between 8th and the 10th of March. We will be on stand E6045 which we will be sharing with ETU software.
The new version is 1.8.1.004. It incorporates SBEM 5.2d, so it now supports calculations in Wales. The other main change in this version is that glazing and window settings can be changed globally within a project.
Approval of revised Carbon Checker following release of SBEM 5.2d (updated)
A new version of Carbon Checker (1.8.1.004) has been released to support SBEM 5.2d patch 1.
The change from SBEM 5.2b to 5.2d only added features that support calculations in Wales; calculation results in England are unaffected by this version change.
We have had approval for our 5.2d-compliant version of Carbon Checker for use in England and Wales.
The situation is potentially confusing, so it is summarised below:
England

As well as implementing the change to support SBEM 5.2d, the new version of Carbon Checker lets users globally edit glazing and window settings for a project rather than having to change them individually.
